Adam Macciocchi- Lancia

Adam Macciocchi Lancia is a contemporary artist from Toronto, Canada. Accepted to the Art Gallery of Ontario's "Young Artists Incubator" at age seven, to then graduating with a BA in Fine Arts at OCAD U, Adam has incorporated all of his painting and illustration skills into the work he has been creating.
A visual artist with bad vision. Since 2007 Adam has dealt with very rare cases of cracked and detached retinas in both eyes causing him to have severe visual impairments. All the procedures and surgeries throughout the years have helped Adam regain his vision but have caused little holes to form in his eyes that further procedures have not helped close. These holes have allowed more light to pass through at a faster rate causing a strobe light effect that are constantly seen. Even when he closes his eyes. So while Adam has been creating, he has had strobe lights in his eyes partially blinding his vision.
Through Adam's work he exposes what real life means today and how social media dictates other's interpretation of what we curate as our "real lives". His hand painted artworks reinterpret pop art using washes of colour and detailed intricate line work/ imagery. These create the compositions that reveal the layers of messaging and content we are exposed to everyday. Through this process he attempts to reveal a manufactured reality.
His paintings have been sold to many clients in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Adam's paintings have also been liked and shared on social media by the likes of pop band "Maroon 5", actresses "Tiffany Haddish, Lucy Hale, Jenna Dewan, Cheryl Hines", celebrities "October Gonzalez, Yris Palmer, Holly Madison", internationally known dj "Chantel Jeffries", comedian "J.B. Smoove", internationally known models "Yovanna Ventura, Gabby Epstein, Julia Kelly, Sophia Miacova, Melinda London, Sophi Knight, Chelcie May" and internet star "Roy Purdy".
